I understand what you’re saying, but at the same time I deliberately left it out. It was beyond sarcasm, and rooted in a much darker territory.

To try and soften it with a “ha-ha” just being sarcastic cheapens the horror of the historical reference - as well as the idea itself.

I guess that that’s what I was trying to say: how easily it becomes to think the unthinkable in certain contexts.

I nevertheless apologize for any unpleasantness I may have caused: it was inadvertent, and above all, I never intended it a clever post as much as an object-lesson.

Once again, my excuses if some of you saw it as a lesson in the abject rather than the object.
