Without going all wingnut I’m not totally sanguine about the Al Jazeera purchase of Current either. Don’t forget that this is a news organization owned by the royal family of Qatar - it’s not a private enterprise. Even putting aside the questionable programming that appears on the Arabic version, we should always be skeptical of a media network owned by an authoritarian monarchy.

That’s my biggest concern. I also find it ironic that a nation whose wealth is primarily from petroleum (Qatar is an OPEC nation) will purchase Current TV which is partially owned by Al Gore.
