Up here, we’re getting snow and bitter cold (20 degrees F / -6 degrees C). A couple of years ago, Mrs. Fish got stranded at the bottom of the big hill in town because her car didn’t have enough weight in the back end or tread on the tires to make traction on the ice. Some gracious soul picked her and the kids up half a mile from the house and took her home until I could come down and help her get the car from the gas station back home. Which reminds me, at some point this weekend I need to rotate her tires so that the new ones are on the back.

Interestingly, my wife is looking into Americorps for work in St. Paul. (I’ll need a bigger snow shovel.) It seems they want people to teach computer literacy, basic and advanced, and that’s right up her alley.

Americorp’s stipend is pretty low though (meaning you have to have some sort of independent income). I guess that would be my VA disability.
