“Herd Mentality” is the Freudian slip of the month.

This. LOL.

Though one thing I have noticed - consistently thought the Coronavirus pandemic - is that NO ONE seems to want to push back on the use of the term “herd immunity”.

Now I am not an epidemiologist, of course, but it’s my understanding that, strictly, “herd immunity” should (only) apply to the relative level of susceptibility/infection/protection of *unvaccinated* members of a population where the majority (or a certain level) are either vaccinated or otherwise known to be disease-free.

When Trump/Republicans/wingnuts use the term, it seems like what they really mean is “let the disease run rampant, and fuck the consequences - live or die, not my problem”. Am I missing something?
