As the first comment over there notes, Rubio was one of the only voices who spoke up when Wikileaks released the Podesta emails, cautioning the GOP that they wouldn’t like it if the same happened to them. I think he knew or strongly suspected that his campaign specifically and the GOP in general had been the subject of hacking.
