Isn’t one of the issues now that the Panama Canal can’t accommodate some of the larger shipping vessels? Also, I’m just going to go out on a limb and guess that Trump’s approach (for lack of a better word) to foreign policy is just word association.

I believe the Canal can now, since Panama has spent a huge amount of money for the expansion.
