The strongest, bravest armed man is no match for an evil wolf with a gun, either. Guns don’t miraculously make you safe. If you survive an encounter with an armed gunman, it is almost completely down to luck, not skill or fortitude or courage. He missed, you (or the police) didn’t, end of story. A gun is more of a near-automatic death sentence than a near-automatic wall of invulnerability.
