Horner and the organization for which he works, CEI, are reasons (along with many others, like Lew Rockwell) why “libertarianism” has attained such a low standing in my eyes (and not just mine.)

There is an intellectual bankruptcy, besides the moral one, that these folk have.

I know there are other self-declared “libertarians” who want to be both honest and insightful. Yet like with so many groups it is the slimy that maneuver themselves into the spotlight, draw the attention, and finally debase whatever organization with which they associate.

It just occurred to me you are describing pretty much the entire fringe elements. You can replace ‘libertarians’ with ‘anarchists’ and you end up in the same gutter. Each group hijacks ‘individual rights’ as if that were the Holy Grail.

The rest of us mean nothing to them. We’re the ones being exploited.
