While we’re on the topic of gaffes:

Is there such a word as “agreeance” (agreement)? I have caught my son using it, it is not a word that he ever learned growing up, and I’m wondering if he may have picked it up as a “Southernism” (he lives in Alabama)

I have told him not to put on a fake “Southern” accent. Everybody knows he is a Yankee, and even his born-and-raised in Dixie wife does not have a Southern accent.
