Of course the dealer would not always be found liable, but I think they would be in certain cases. If bartenders and wait staff can be liable for ‘over serving’ to someone who subsequently drives drunk, I think a gun dealer can be held responsible for selling a gun used in a crime if they didn’t do their job correctly.

Are we now going to ask gun dealers to be amateur psychologists, holding them responsible if they don’t refuse to sell a gun to the guy who’s “really quiet”?
