I’d advocate for that. The issue is the 1% of the population who are just plain nutters and the amount of damage they can do with their stockpiles.

I’m ready for the repeal of the 2nd Amendment I guess. I see no need for guns in our current society (dog(meat) willing there isn’t a nuclear apocalypse Fallout 4 style).

To be honest, I haven’t shot a gun since Boy Scout summer camp 40 years ago. I have no interest whatsoever and would be happy for a repeal of 2A. But I’m a pragmatist and I recognize that there are some legitimate reasons for ownership: hunting has positive aspects, I think; marksmanship is a legit sport; in some cases a gun might really be a valuable tool for self-protection (heard an interesting conversation the other day on the radio wherein a liberal woman in rural Arizona living alone has had issues with stalking and threats and only feels safe with a gun that she has been trained to use safely). But all of those things are possible without allowing nearly unfettered access to military-style weapons and, as you say, the ability to create personal arsenals.
