Even without faith we all realize, on some basic level, that innocent lives should be protected.

Declaring that a fetus doesn’t qualify as a life may make the practice more tolerable to you, but it doesn’t make the reality any less tragic.

the issue is when, in the seamless progression from fertilization to birth, it ‘becomes’ a
single, discrete human life with constitutional rights and protections
