During the Atlanta Olympics..

The Atlanta Olympics were practically in my back yard, and a friend and I decided to get tickets to some events and go. We couldn’t find a hotel room, so we drove down to Atlanta, saw Men’s Basketball, Women’s Judo, and a baseball game, and drove back - all in 24 hours. That was Monday. On Saturday the bomb went off.

Some yahoo called my 90 year old grandmother and said “They just blew up Atlanta! Everyone’s dead!!!” She knew I was going but didn’t know when. A moment later, the phone rings at my house. (about 6:45 AM)

Dad says “You better get up and talk to your grandmother, something is going on in Atlanta and she’s convinced you’re in trouble.” So I go down to the kitchen, half asleep, and answer the phone.

Me: “Hello?”
Her: “Are you dead?!?!”
Me:” No, I’m not dead! Half asleep, but not dead!”
Her: “Are you sure?!?!”
