And as always: as bad as Bill could have been, he’s not running.

It always comes down to that, and the fact that whatever Trump tries to say about Bill at best just comes off now as a pathetic deflection. Hillary on the other hand can easily say that, then extend the discussion down a myriad of legitimate policy / platform detours having to do with reproductive freedom, equal pay and maternity / parental leave. All of which offer her a chance to present stark differences and occupy the moral high ground while not having it come off as a flagrant dodge. Also, whenever she wants it there’s the omnipresent issue of temperament, which has repeatedly proven to get under Donald’s skin.

She can also use yesterday’s “apology” as a pivot to question him about when he changed his mind about Obama’s legitimacy, what actually made him change his mind and doesn’t he owe Obama an apology too. She can pivot to the Central Park 5, how they were totally exonerated by DNA evidence and how this very week Trump refused to admit he was wrong about them.

Assuming he even shows up she’s going to lure him into the minefield, watch him blow himself up, and then spend the rest of her time circling while clinically describing his wounds to the audience.
