What, exactly is it that “IQ Tests” are supposed to measure? In the past, IQ test results have been used to justify racism, eugenics and forced sterilization, not to mention groups of self-proclaimed “elites” who base their overall human superiority on their ability to achieve high test scores.

IQ tests can not predict if someone has an aptitude for the creative arts, interpersonal or entrepreneurial skills, or physical stamina. IQ tests can only measure a person’s ability to solve certain types of puzzles or compete at 3D chess.

I am phobic about IQ tests. I took one in the fourth grade, and ended up in the ‘gifted and talented’ program in middle school, with some of the most awful people I’ve ever met.
