Ah. It might be thinking too much. If it has a CPU fan remove that and the heat sink and clean up the old coolant paste (if there is any) and give it a new dab of coolant paste. Or something.

A “dab” is a bit too much. The art of reapplying coolant paste is a bit tricky; you actually want as much surface-to-surface contact as possible. Generally speaking, if a computer is overheating that wasn’t doing it from the outset, blowing it out with a can of compressed air will do just fine.
