How would that even work? You register with the government and get a card where they can track everything you purchase and decide to give you a lower tax rate on a purchase?

It’s a cash payment to every taxpayer. It’s a like an income tax refund except everyone gets the same thing, at the beginning of the tax year. It makes the sales tax less regressive.
