- Blonde girls from Normandy (descended from Viking rapists)
- Short, square-jawed dark-haired Provenals (descended from Roman settlers)
- …and the usual litany of modern immigrants (Vietnamese, Arabs, Senegalese, etc.)

… and Laetitia Casta, who is in a sort of superhuman class all by herself.
