re: #342 Dark_Falcon

I read the headlines here before posting, and I do need to say that if Zimmerman is actually running, then he is truly being a fool.

Other signs that he’s being a fool: talking to Sean Hannity without his lawyers knowing about it, and putting up a website without their knowledge/consent.

If I was an attorney, those would have been immediate grounds to fire my client even if I knew where the hell he was. If they’re going to be stupid enough to put up a website and talk to a political pundit without me knowing about it, then fuck ‘em. They’re on their own.

Here’s three words that can nullify “Stand Your Ground”: “Flight Equals Guilt”. On this point, Florida law is like the law in every other state: If you are under investigation and you run, the fact that you ran can be used against you at trial. In a self defense claim scenario this can be especially devastating as prosecutors can use your running as evidence that you knew you actions were not lawful.

If he’s left the state and is on the run, that’s as good as an admission that his self-defense claim is bullshit. If he truly believes he was in the right, he would have turned himself in by now and would go into a trial with his conscience clear. Running doesn’t help him at all.
