See, this is what has turned me frustrated with the left of the party. One of my cousins works on WS. She’s brilliant, our family’s first Ivy Leaguer, and very open minded. She’s not a heartless banker villain. Does WS have problems? Yes that’s why things like Dodd-Frank were needed but the people who work there aren’t all cartoon villains either.

I worked for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for twenty years. The staff busted their butts to do the right thing. It was the brass (appointed by Republican Governor’s) who set policy. Staff knew Climate Change was an established, ongoing threat. We saw it in increasingly bizarre weather, monster droughts, killing floods, and wildfires that destroyed thousands of houses in a weekend.

The brass denied its existence or its ability to affect the economy of the State.

When talking about what needs to be regulated, start at the top of the food chain and work your way down. Clerks and account managers didn’t invent tranches and CDOs. It was the money boys.
