Joy Reid had the Rev. Dr. Barber on and he thought this was all a play on civil and voting rights bills of ‘64 and ‘65 and a nod to the Alabama fundie religious racists. “Those” people and the ungodly Democrats and Immigrants are out to kill off Republicans don’t you know and it starts by taking down Roy Moore.

I did hear most of that interview (house chores sometimes come first) but I don’t really think that was Moore’s point. His previous remark referenced another Supreme Court decision. In the clip, he was not discussing laws passed by Congress but Supreme Court rulings that created rights out of nothing.
