And at least AFAICT, it’s becoming increasing obvious that the Republicans who are backing Brett Kavanaugh had buckets of slime already primed to toss even before Christine Ford’s name became public, AND: knew where they were going to toss them.

And anyway, just as an aside: I’ll disagree with the take that Judge Kavanaugh - if he isn’t confirmed to the SC, by whatever circumstances - “can just go back to the District Court” or wherever without some damage to his rep. Oh, he’ll still have the job, but I think he’s probably going to be tarred as “Judge Rapey McRapeface” for the rest of his career.

I’d add a sympathetic soundtrack, but my thumbnail violin seems to have slid off and gotten misplaced: easy when they’re that small.
