Sorry, but I just found out night before last that my mother (from whom I’ve been estranged for many years) died on March 31, so subtlety is pretty much gonna be lost on me till I finish grappling with all the old emotional baggage and my feelings on her passing.

Our relationship was lost decades ago, but she was still my mother. Now all opportunities for many kind of simple reconciliation or closure are lost.

Humans are contentious and stubborn and stupid and prideful, Israelis & Palestinians (and Americans) included. We ALL need to do better because NONE of us are getting out of here alive.

I lost my dad a couple of months ago. We weren’t close at all and I haven’t grieved a single moment. He was a an acquaintance, nothing more or nothing less.

I’m sorry for your loss but it’s quite alright to just let it go.

Forgive me if I’ve overstepped my bounds but I don’t believe you are obligated to give parents that failed to be parents any great emotion.
