Alliance man seeks to challenge Adrian Smith (R-NE3) in the Republican Primary in Nebraska. (Good, make them spend money fighting amongst themselves.)
Holy crap, this guy is trying to primary Rep. Smith on (some) left-leaning issues.
Alliance man runs for Congress, challenging Adrian Smith (Goes to the Scottsbluff, NE Star-Herald, more at the link):
โWe need to have someone in office that will hold our different government entities accountable for their actions and inactions,โ Bolinger said. โThereโs a big mismanagement in how government is being run, especially when it comes to funding. The money could be put back into education, housing, Medicare and Medicaid.โ
He said the fiscal mismanagement is mainly caused by the several layers of government that oversee a single agency, when one would be sufficient.
Bolinger first became interested in politics in 2003 when he was a member of the Alliance Planning Commission, in what he called an โodd situation.โ He said he saw some of the grey ethical areas as the city used substandard and blighted rulings to clear property for development, although existing businesses were opposed.
