Orrin Hatch and other Republicans in the Senate released this letter from a Dennis Ketterer, a former weatherman now resident in Utah. Ketterer alleges that Julie Swetnick…well hell, it’s a slut-shaming letter, let’s just get right to the point.

I am frankly furious. The letter came to Hatch’s attention because it was passed from Ketterer to a former Mormon bishop who had connections to Hatch’s office. And I am sure that Hatch was on the lookout for such dirt.

First of all, it doesn’t matter if Julie Swetnick slept with five men a night for the last 25 years. What matters is that in this one incident, it was NOT CONSENSUAL. Second, Hatch and the anonymous former Mormon bishop are fucking hypocrites. I have no doubt that they asked children sexually explicit questions when they were bishops as part of “worthiness” interviews, conducted one-on-one in the bishop’s office. How the hell can you complain about a woman being sexually active when you’re asking 11 year old boys if they masturbate so you can determine if they can be advanced to the priesthood?

Yeah, I’m pissed off.
