In Mitchell’s spew of bullshit that Charles posted, this one stuck out as particularly egregious:

For decades now, Climate Scientists have been PREDICTING this, even at a time when the data weren’t necessarily clear. All that time, the deniers claimed “No warming! All the data that shows warming is flawed and/or faked!!!”

Now, as noted, the line has changed to “Climate changes all the time!” and “It’s a natural cycle!” and my favorite, from Trump, “Yeah the climate is changing but maybe it changes back!”

And Mitchell wades into this as if Climate Scientists are ONLY NOW saying that anthropogenic GHG’s are causing the warming the deniers can no longer pretend isn’t happening, saying it’s Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc fallacy, as if they hadn’t been predicting this for over 30 years.

It truly is amazing that the Right slips seamlessly from one position to its diametric opposite without even a pause to consider that they were wrong in the first place.

hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc are all ‘natural’

why should we bother predicting them and try to protect ourselves?

ps - it doesnt matter if they’re right or wrong. there is no self awareness or hypocrisy. there is no shame

there is only ‘what position can i take right now that will work for me right now’.
