Well, yes, the definition of being an atheist is that I don’t care about that. Nor do the many, many Jewish atheists.

See the Temple as something like the Liberty Bell. You don’t give things like that way and expect your culture to remain strong.

I’m not sure what you mean by that. The Liberty Bell could disappear tomorrow and it wouldn’t really affect the US much. It’d be a mystery, and Philadelphia would be cheesed off.

I’m pointing out that you’re equating “being Jews” with “being religious Jews”. And that Jewish history, Jewish culture, is synonymous with the Jewish religion. Theodore Herzl’s view of Zionism, and many of the founders of Israel, was nothing like that. At all.
