Legal analogies. How do they work.

Depriving people of their civil and human rights (aka Dred Scott) is same as overturning Obergefell.

In this respect, it works - Dred Scott being imposed and overturning Obergefell are meant to protect the status quo ante - namely preserving rights for a privileged few. Expanding rights is bad, especially when it comes to minorities and LGBT.

Winning elections have consequences - and selecting judges is one of them. Being able to confirm them is another - and the GOP controls the process in a majority of states, and now they can do the same at the federal level.
