Another issue with Islam is that we in America tend to look on Saudi Arabia as representative of moderate Islam because they are our economic and political allies.

But scratch below the surface and you find a repressive feudal monarchy that promotes Wahabism, one of the most virulent strains of Islamist thought, and a country that gave us both Bin Laden and 15 of the 19 9/11 attackers.

While paradoxically, Iran allows public Christmas celebrations and festivities for its Christian minority. Tehran during Christmas is pretty magical from what I’ve seen in photos.

Try doing that in Riyadh.
