Who started calling immigrant people aliens and/or illegal aliens? I grew up using the term alien to represent a “person” from a planet other than earth. I find it beyond disgusting and horrific that people from countries outside of the US are referred to in this fashion.

I’m 52. When I was growing up, the term was “illegal aliens” and the occasional “wetback.”
