Yeah Carter’s not going to get this kind of send off. And I think that’s really unfortunate.

Mr. Carter has said in the past that he doesn’t want to die until the last Guinea worm does first.

A fair assessment of Mr. Carter’s lifetime would include things such as the Camp David Accords and all of the post-presidency things he’s done with the Carter Center and Habitat for Humanity.

What he’ll probably get is night after night of Iran Hostage Crisis.

When I was in the Navy, there were tons of people who were all “let’s go in and kill ‘em all and let God sort them out.” (I suppose they would call themselves “pro-life.”) It sure looks now like Ronald Reagan or his team had a hand in prolonging that - kind of like Nixon did with Vietnam.
