Keep in mind, starting this week, Republican primaries can be winner-take-all, so if there’s a sudden shift, it could happen. Let’s say Rubio loses in Florida and has to bow out. My guess is that a good chuck of Rubio voters go to Kaisch over Cruz or Trump. In a three man race, with one clear establishment style candidate, it’s very easy to see how he could start winning primaries. The problem is he’s too far behind now to likely be able to get enough delegates to avoid a floor fight.
THE GOP’s last best hope is a floor fight with Kasich coming out the winner.
But if that happens, a lot of Trump followers will turn their backs on the GOP, even if he does not run 3rd party.
