Funny thing about timing the presidency. Obama saw his shot in 2008. Even though he’s young, he’d have been wrong to skip it and start planning for a decade or two from now instead. Who knows what would happen to his stock? And sitting around the Senate getting moldy isn’t the best strategy (ask McCain, Dole and the many more senators who don’t get past the primaries).

People like Nixon are rare. You really just get one shot, gotta take it.

too bad, I think he could have done more with more experience. As it is, he is going down in history as our first black POTUS, without any other major accomplishments. I think he could have been known for more than the color of his skin.
