A lot of Athletes do Yoga for stretching…
I took Aikido in college for stretching exercises…
Coach told us it would be a good thing
When I was in Krav Maga we would end some of the classes with about 5 minutes of yoga. The poses they had use do (mostly standing) were like isometric strength training (you could really feel it in your muscles) and it was a good way to stretch at the end of the class.
