Just had a guy knock on the door. He’s selling Omaha steaks and other meat out of the back of his truck with the totally original (!) sales pitch “we have a few cases left in the truck.”
He went on to say “it’s cold and raining and we just want to head home.” (yes, it’s raining but it’s 52F).

I looked at him and said “boy, are you in the wrong holler…deer season just ended and all of our freezers are stuff to the gills with venison for the winter. You do realize that we hunt back here, right?” (Punctuated that last sentence with a very knowing stare.)

He beat a very hasty retreat.

Was that before or after the banjos started playing?
