That is basically the back story for Star Trek. There’s a Third World War in the mid 21st century that kills 600 million people and destroys many governments. Young survivors must then step up to rebuild governments and the planet itself. In 2063 first contact with the Vulcans is made and the adventure begins.

I thought it read as rather formulaic. He takes credit for so much.
