re: #340 Mattand
I’ve literally learned more about drums from you in the last hour than I have my whole life. Much, much appreciated.
Thank you. I think the biggest mistake parents and beginners make is buying on looks or trying to save a buck.
A decent digital kit can sound good with a powered monitor and sound decent because you can add some processing to the sound. The included speakers will sound like tin on asphalt.
And a GOOD wood starter set will set you back $1000 to $1500. The cheap ones are just junk wood with wrap on them. 2 wet summers later…..boink.
My drummers kit, which is his lowest level kit as it sits in my basement where we practice. The Evans kick head is $45 by itself.
Add it up.
I’m glad I could help you.
