Money helps but it doesn’t guarantee success. Eric Cantor had all the money in the world but was defeated in his primary. And again, these figures are all deceptive since they don’t include dark money and super-pacs which upend the financial aspects of campaigns.

I donated to the Gary Peters campaign and suddenly began to receive an email begging for more money EVERY FUCKING HOUR. It was impossible to unsubscribe from the list so I had to spamblock it, and about a bazillion other campaigns that it shared my email with.

I also received a phone call, which I answered (I normally never pick up these type of calls) and told them yes, I have already voted for Gary Peters and the volunteer then asked for more money which I said SPAMMING ME WITH DOZENS OF EMAILS EVERY DAY IS NOT THE WAY TO GO ABOUT IT.
