I remember when I first read up on the Watergate scandal and realized the origin of the acronym. I was like, please, dear God, tell me they didn’t do that on purpose.

It was a great time. We had Spiro Agnew taking bribes in his White House office, and giving speeches with zingers like “nattering nabobs of negativism”, “pusillanimous pussyfooters”, and my favorite of all time “an effete corps of impudent snobs who characterize themselves as intellectuals”.

I’d love to watch Trump try to read that last one out loud.
