Was just reading a Consumer Reports article on a new useful computer service “Fake auto-generated email addresses”. These services try to shield users from data aggregation techniques used by marketers.

Apparently Apple ‘Sign In with Apple” and Firefox Relay can be set up to generate fake email addresses when you need to cough up an email address for a coupon or to sign up for something. Consumer Reports also mentioned several third party services as well including 10MinuteMail, Temp-Mail, Minute Inbox, and EmailOnDeck.

According to CR, these services will auto-generate the fake email and then track and forward responses to your regular email. You can also expire emails so that responses are sent to /dev/null.
