Rick Reilly wrote a piece on ESPN.com saying that Lance should be given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to his alleged use of performance enhancing drugs. Some very well informed people I know say that is a load of BS, and that Lance could have not won seven in a row without using PEDs. Any cycling experts out there care to check in with a thought on this?

Anyone who has any experience at all with cycling knows that drugs are everywhere in the sport. In that context, it would not surprise me in the least if at some point, Armstrong is found to have used blood-boosting techniques.

However, it has to be pointed out that he’s also probably the most-tested athlete in the history of cycling and he’s never failed a test.
