Yes. Back East, they use rock salt on driveways and roads to melt the snow. They don’t like Sen. Snowe (who they apparently equate with the White Witch of Narnia—ie, the mortal enemy of Aslan, the Christ figure, BTW), so they’re going to melt her.

While the salt does melt the snow, it also does horribly nasty things to the unprotected metal parts of vehicles that have to drive through the slushy aftermath. When it eats a hole through your floorboard, the people who poured the salt in the first place will still be standing there expecting your gratitude for saving you from the snow. That seems somehow appropriate.
