You have no idea what it was like several years ago. This board is so much more sane these days.

I’ve been here since ‘07 and the changes have been completely revolutionary. Like Space Jesus, I was stuck in the negative karma hole for quite a while (although never to his extent), just by noting that the more extreme voices here were *maybe* just a little too extreme.

It’s not hard to find out what it was like before, because it’s all still there except the 30,000 or so comments [each!] of 4 or 5 posters who were beyond the pale.

The poster I miss most is Occasional Reader. A very clever, erudite gentleman.

This is why I don’t like to talk about some of the departed. He seemed fine when he was here, but when a lot flouncing was going on, OR came in and recruited for a stalker blog, and posts to this day (well, I haven’t looked that recently) with people whose attitudes we’d ridicule if they were posting here. Saying Obama is arrogant and that kind of tiresome tripe.
