Those are all cases unto themselves. I got no trouble with Enbglish being the official language of government in the USA, but neither do I have any problem with the notion that lots of people use other languages to communicate privately.

OK, with that out of the way: Bilingualism is in the New Mexico state constitution. Vast portions of the US were Mexico, and before that, New Spain, before they were the US. I see no reason to make English the official language.
