Colorism unfortunately is very much a thing in other cultures.

Some of my female students here are stunning, but they think themselves less attractive because their skin is “dark.”

There’s a lot of pressure in China, Korea and Japan for women to meet some arbitrary standard of beauty, more so than in the West.
