When he was arrested in Colorado, I remember thinking: “He’s driving a Khaki VW? And his name’s actually Ted? Oh, yeah, this poor guy is boned.” It just seemed too good to be true. Who could have thought Ted would tell people his real name when he was cruising for victims?

It shocked the people who knew him too. Ann Rule’s book is so fascinating. I meant to read it years ago but my copy got destroyed in a house flood. I think there was a lot of hubris on Bundy’s part. I also think he had a big chip on his shoulder due to being a bastard and being among people that were products of privilege. Obviously, that’s not meant to justify his nature but I think ti definitely explains why he targeted who he did. Now something that I don’t see discussed that often is when he targeted young women like the girl, Kimberly Leach whose murder is what got him sentenced to death in Florida. Actually I apologize, it was the sorority murders that got him sentenced there but they tried it him for capital murder in the Leach case too.
