BTW, can I put out a vote of thanks to the Mormon community, for manufacturing wedding dresses with sleeves? My search for a wedding dress was deeply complicated by the fact that strapless is apparently the name of the game for the decade, and there just wasn’t no way.

There ALSO wasn’t no way I was going to wear one of the high-necked retro-80s styles popular in the Chassidic communities.

Apparently, Mormons and I have similar ideas about modesty. Well, not the dresses for the Temple weddings. Those were a bit too much. But the other ones.

Eventually, I ended up with something from a local Jewish designer, but the Mormons were a much-needed break when I was losing my mind looking at one strapless dress after another.
