What disturbs me is how more and more reactionary they get. More and more you see Republican office holders/seekers who oppose abortion no exception as well as the opposition to equal pay for equal work. It’s why I’m deeply cynical about the Republican party moderating after Obama leaves. In the 80’s when the Dems were being clobbered at the polls, there was groundwork being done by people like Clinton to adapt the party. The Republican Party is changing for sure, it’s just getting more and more reactionary. The likely Republican nominee for Congress here is a guy who has twice said that Downs Syndrome is God’s punishment for abortion. He replaced another guy who said that he didn’t know how spousal rape was possible. That guy is my state senator.

Speaking of which, She Who Must Be Obeyed and I visited the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh last week. The place was full of Caucasian Wingnuts, which we found hilarious.
