It really is. Before I had researched, I had heard about my grandfather losing a sister. As I had never known him, I never knew for sure but sure enough and to make matters even more tragic for his parents it was on Christmas Eve. My grandfather was only six months old when it happened so no memories of her. It’s just amazing what we take for granted these days. And as I said it really can’t even be called a class thing though certainly you can infer (haven’t seen the data) that morality was much higher among the poor for obvious reasons.
