Happy, may it be far better than what happened between my 58 years and your age. Say thirty or so years ago? Conservatism 1988 was a far cry from Trumpism today.

Right, I can’t imagine any conservative presidential candidate signing the Americans with Disabilities Act or Clean Air or valuing international cooperation as H.W Bush did in Desert Storm. I’m aware of the more negative aspects of his legacy which were discussed at length when he did last month but that’s the thing. And I’ve seen this on a state level too. Ultimately even though I’ll never be a conservative and frankly I have little taste for conservative ideology, I think a functioning society needs conservative and liberalism. What’s passed for conservative during my lifetime though keeps getting worse.
